Beginner's Basic Workshop

This one day, four hour, introductory workshop will give you the basic information you need to take the next step. You will learn the seven survival priorities upon which you will build your preparations for all of your outdoor adventures; we will show you how to set up your tent, and help you become familiar with your personal wilderness equipment. Demonstrations will be offered in water filtration methods and other survival skills.

Basic Wilderness Survival Skills Overnight

A two day, one night course designed to give you the confidence you need in yourself, and in the seven survival priorities, to brave the outdoors with solid, reliable basic skills necessary to keep you in the right frame of mind in a rescue situation. Adapt and be creative in a supported atmosphere. Make shelter, filter water, craft fire, and learn to signal, among other things.

You will be permitted to bring your own tent for shelter, as well as camp food you can cook on a camp stove or over open flames of a fire. Refer to Gear Page for list.

Advanced Wilderness Survival Adventure

A comprehensive, four day, three night class in which you will take your wilderness experience to the edge of your comfort zone. We will take the seven survival priorities to the next level and you will learn a variety of skills and techniques that will help you expand your shelter building capabilities and begin bushcrafting.

There is no prerequisite, so we will cover all topics with a solid foundation to build upon during the extended weekend.

You will bring your own food, but you will sleep in a shelter that you build. You will be provided with the materials you need. Don't worry-- you will have plenty of support, and it will be great!

$600 per person

Critter Crew- Kids 8 - 10 years of age. A three hour experience in nature, covering the priorities of wilderness survival in an active, engaging, age-appropriate manner.

$50 per child

Backcountry Bushcrafters-

Youth 11 - 13 years of age. A six hour journey into nature exploring the priorities of wilderness survival through the lens of a creative explorer.

$75 per child

Sunset Survivors- Teens 14 - 17 years of age. A six hour wilderness immersion with an overnight option. This experience incorporates the priorities of wilderness survival into interactive scenarios.

Reiki in Nature

Reiki is an ancient Japanese energy art that provides relaxation and promotes healing. Gretchen Swank is an Usui / Tibetan Reiki Master Teacher and a Karuna Reiki Master Teacher. She has been practicing and teaching Reiki since 2013, and she developed her own lineage of Reiki: Collective Heart Reiki. Coupled with the peace and beauty of nature, the energy of Reiki is amplified. Gretchen now offers classes in all levels of Usui / Collective Heart Reiki and Reiki treatments at Camp Gretchen Wilderness Survival School. The homepage will be updated with dates for 2025.
